Trick or Treat

Yarrrrrrrrrrrr Matey!!!
Hinx loved being a Scallywag for Halloween.
He picked up on the whole trick-or-treat thing pretty quickly,
after a few houses he knew exactly what to do:
run up to the door, knock, then grab as much candy out
of their bucket as he could before they stopped him!
He absolutely loved it.

Ella was Snow White for our ward Trunk-or-treat and for
our School party, but she decided last minute to be CinderElla
to go trick-or-treating "around the block" as she says. Well, it's no
wonder Cinderella left the glass slipper, they're horrible to walk in.
It sure made it easier to keep up with them though.

Ella loaded up a few pumpkins full of candy,
I figured I'd wait till next year to teach her about
using Pillow Cases instead.

Jill (Madame Rosmerta) and I (Sirius Black)
threw a wicked Harry Potter Party over the weekend.
Jill organized everything and did such an amazing job.
Everyone pitched in and helped make all the HP foods, top that
with some Butterbeer and Pumpkin Juice and a bunch of friends
that went all out with their costumes, it was a rockin' night. Yes,
those are eye liner tattoos on my chest, and Jill's wand has a core
of Dragon tails. We know we're nerds. If you're reading this,
you probably are too.

It took this quick shot before most of the food was out,
but it looked A-mazing when it was all put together.
Kudos to the knocked up Madame Rosmerta.

A Royal Princess Party

Yesterday we had a Royal Princess Birthday Party for Ella. It was complete with a princess tea party and a real princess came to read stories to the little princesses. Hinx really enjoyed all of the treats and swords and Ella couldn't have been happier.




















Hinx was a pro at stealing everone's treats while they weren't looking.













Our friend Kelsey came as a beautiful princess and Ella loved it. She couldn't quit talking about princess Kelsey and how pretty she was.















We had lots of treats including Fairy Godmother wands (Chocolate dipped marsh mellows), Frog Prince Scepters (frozen grapes on skewers), Crown Jewel Sandwiches (PB&Js cut with a crown cookie cutter) and other yummy goodies.

Sir Hinxalot pulled the sword out of the stone,
vowing to protect the Princess from all evil.

When Sir Hinxalot went in for naptime, the Princess
proved she could handle her own!

Early Summer fun

We met up with Rob and Hannah downtown for dinner.
Hinx loved the after -party.

Cause when you're cool, the sun shines on you
24 hrs a day!

we absolutely loved cruisin' the Poudre River trail.

Hiking the Flatirons in Boulder

Jill made me do it.

We hiked up to the top of the Flatirons where we found
a group rock climbing up the front face of the tallest one.

This wily mare is Peggy Sue

Popeye didn't particularly enjoy Peggy Sue's gas.
On the last half of the trip, Popeye took the lead and
wouldn't let Peggy Sue pass him up, despite MY efforts.
Another horse, Puddin', tried to pass Peggy Sue and
she tried to kick it in the face. Don't Mess!
